Work Packages /_Case Studies /_The United Kingdom

This case study tested in accordance with the Water Framework Directive the possibilities for public participation and participatory planning. It functioned as a pilot basin for the UK.
The Ribble basin is located in the North west of England, which includes the Ribble, the Douglas and the Crossens catchments.

The Ribble catchment comprises natural landscapes and also built-up areas that hardly leave any space for a living river.
